“Smooth” monopod with folding base
Set down, pull out – it’s standing IFA 2019, Hall 10.2
Monopods are a quick alternative to tripods when the latter would take too long to set up. Hama is showing a monopod at the IFA that is even faster to set up than before. You simply pull it out – no need for any clamps or screws. It offers continuous height adjustment from 63.5 cm to 155 cm (maximum). The base of the monopod comprises three legs that can be individually folded out. This ensures that the monopod stands stably and securely on the ground. The monopod is just made for shooting animals with large focal lengths, for instance – also with heavy lenses.
Another highlight can be found at the end of the monopod: a joint (can be fixed in place, if necessary) for smooth movements and pans and a tilt of up to 20 degrees in all directions. Fascinating 360-degree panorama shots and lifelike room and property shots are guaranteed. Thanks to the small pack size and a weight of only 900 grammes, it is especially well suited for travel. A small novelty: The base is removable and can be used together with the detachable monopod head as a mini tripod. A second ¼-inch quick-release plate, generous foam sleeve, and rubber pads on the feet round off the features of the ‘Smooth’ monopod.
